The best part of Arashiyama after the bamboo crowds. The entry fee felt worth it because the garden finally gave us space, quiet paths, and matcha at the end.

Do not rush this as a bamboo grove add-on. The villa buildings, moss edges, maple paths, and viewpoint make more sense when you slow down.
Beautiful and quieter than expected. Some paths are uneven, so it may not be ideal for strollers, but the tea room break was lovely.
Autumn color here is intimate rather than theatrical. The garden changes pace every few minutes, which makes it feel more private than most Arashiyama stops.
